IBM brings its global reach to the SCION Association to advance SCION technology worldwide

Lucerne, 22.09.2026 – IBM, a leading technology provider of global hybrid cloud and AI, serving governments and organizations globally across critical infrastructure sectors, has joined the SCION Association.

The SCION Association is a non-profit organization that oversees and maintains SCION (Scalability, Control, and Isolation On Next-Generation Networks), a technology developed at ETH Zurich that addresses today’s most pressing issues related to connectivity, including cybersecurity, data optionality, and cyber resilience for critical sectors.

IBM recognizes the need for higher security and resiliency across digital ecosystems in mission-critical industries and will act as a global service integrator in the SCION ecosystem.

Therefore, IBM joins the SCION Association as a Supporter Member, the Association’s highest membership tier, gaining premier recognition within the SCION ecosystem and actively supporting the Association’s efforts to grow and leverage the technology. The membership includes collaboration at events and participation in the Association’s committees. Furthermore, IBM and Anapaya, the commercial provider of SCION-based solutions, will initiate joint go-to-market activities to help clients deploy and integrate SCION technology.
