Eraneos uniquely bridges the gap between business use cases and technology. We help senior management understand the strategic added value of SCION, translating complex networking concepts into clear business outcomes such as resilience, compliance, and sovereignty. At the same time, we empower engineers to elevate their work by anchoring it in tangible business impact. This dual capability is rare and exactly what SCION needs to move from a groundbreaking technology to mainstream enterprise adoption. Our commitment to the SCION community is proven through active contribution, most notably as co-author of the SCION ROI white paper, a piece that equips organizations with the arguments needed to justify investment in SCION-based solutions. Beyond that, we engage clients across critical sectors through workshops, assessments, and roadmaps that position SCION as a strategic enabler. We also actively support SCION’s international expansion, in particular in the Benelux region, by sponsoring and contributing to events. Eraneos is not just a connector by title, we are a connector by practice. We connect ideas to investment, engineers to executives, technology to transformation, and communities across countries. Vote Eraneos, because connecting technology and business is what we do best.
IBM has enabled SCION on IBM Cloud in Europe, giving clients true end-to-end SCION connectivity, from the network path into the cloud workload itself, not just to the cloud’s edge. Combined with IBM TLS’s integration of SCiON/Anapaya into its Data Secure Service, this means IBM is one of the few providers offering SCION as a connected stack rather than a single link: cloud, network path, and Services under one relationship.IBM brings deep network & security expertise and a track record of supporting sovereignty requirements for international clients, making it a partner that can operationalise SCION’s guarantees not just connect to them across regulated, cross-border environments. IBM’s own research roots in Switzerland, including IBM Research’s long-standing lab in Rüschlikon, in the same ecosystem that produced SCION at ETH Zurich, reinforce that this is a Swiss-grounded commitment, not an imported one.
libC Technologies has been involved with SCION since 2021 and, in the first SCION network (SSFN), developed and successfully introduced a specialized PKI module with high security requirements. The company also contributed its PKI expertise to help shape the SCION PKI specification. We are currently working on the second generation of the SCION PKI, which specifically addresses the simplification of operational aspects.
The success of SCION in Switzerland demonstrates how innovation creates lasting impact when technology leaders, industry partners, and customers work toward a shared vision. Recognizing the potential of this ETH Zurich-born networking technology early on, Sunrise Business partnered with Anapaya to help transform SCION from a research innovation into a trusted platform for secure and resilient digital communications. In 2021, Sunrise Business became one of the first telecommunications providers to commercialize SCION and support the Secure Swiss Finance Network (SSFN). As the first ISP to adopt SCION, an active participant across all ISDs, and a partner open to piloting new features, Swisscom has helped drive the adoption of secure networking through operational deployments, customer engagement, and collaboration within the community.
Switch probably shouldn’t win in the SCION CONNECTOR category as we were just doing our job. As Switzerland’s National Research and Education Network (NREN) one of our fundamental purposes is to support research in establishing new technologies. In terms of SCION this began in 2015 when Adrian Perrig reached out to us to deploy SCION in a real world ISP network. In the meantime, we enabled and challenged a lot of new ideas which may or may not have found their way into the current SCION implementation.
